Biography


Born in Paris, France in 1950, Jacque studied at the merchant navy academy of France. After finishing his studies he worked in the French merchant navy for three years. Traveling throughout Europe, Africa and the middle east gave the young man an understanding of what he wanted to do with his life.

In 1976, he and his young Costa Rican wife, whom he met in Greece, purchased a sailboat and started a two year journey among islands ports and open sea.

After 2 years Jacque settled in Costa Rica to pursue a couple of different careers before semi retiring and taking up a new passion. During his trips, he produced a great number of drawings, sketches and small format paintings. It was in Costa Rica where he developed all the experiences gathered during his trips, which was reflected in more elaborated paintings. It was also this time when he started showing interest in painting with all kinds of raw materials.
