Carlos, our truly local artist is a study in “Pura Vida”, and a avid surfer we're lucky to get the work we do from this talent man, when the surf up, where's Carlos?

At the age of 17, Carlos was awarded the “Best young Artist” Prize for Costa Rica . He hasn't looked back and as the years progress his work amazes all of us.

In 1993, he received and honorable mention in The International Contest Held by Airbrush Magazine in the United States. That was his first entry. Carlos's work has been recognized by “La Nacion” and “Costa Rica Today” for his artwork and ability to beautify the surrounding architecture with his eco-murals.

In 1995, his murals were featured in “Encuentros con el Arte”, this was a 5 minute documentary movie shown in all the theatres in San Jose . Carlos' murals can be seen in Jaco, Dominical, Guanacaste, San Jose , Florida and right here at Si Como No. The mural here is of a map of Costa Rica featuring all the animals of our wonderful super natural Costa Rica .
